- Bouquet wraps. Brides, use a piece of your mom's bridal gown as a bouquet wrap; seen below.
- Did your grandmother have a beautiful old broach that meant a lot to her, use it on your dress as an accent, as seen in the picture.
- Use an old book, maybe your grandfather's old prayer book, as a ring holder for the ring bearer to carry.
- Dedicate a table to your dads, as below, or have pictures of your parents at their wedding on the escort card table.

Hot Color Combo: Yellow and Gray
I'm gaga over these colors. Yellow and gray is really hot now and it looks beautiful. I love how they incorporated this combo into this wedding. The pictures below are all from Kelly and Chris' wedding in Palm Springs, all photos by Erin Hearts Court. My personal fav: the bouquets of succulents, they are so unique! We love working with unique ideas for our brides.

Homespun Wedding Ideas
Not opting for a "formal affair?" Below are some great photos of fun "homespun" ideas.
Don't want a formal cake? One of the weddings above featured pies, one root beer floats. The bottom picture are cute favors made from pine trees. There is so much you can do to make your wedding uniquely yours. If your personality isn't as formal or "black tie" think of other ways to incorporate yourself into the wedding, after all it is all about YOU! Talk to your planner about interesting ways to display your personality. Your planner will have experience and will work with you to make your wedding unique not cookie cutter.

Bridal Lingo: Veils
Veil Glossary from TheKnot.com
Blusher: A short, single layer of veiling, the blusher is worn over the face before the ceremony, then either flipped over the head or removed thereafter.
Chapel: A formal veil that extends to the floor, the chapel falls two-and-a-half yards from the headpiece. It's often worn in combination with a sweep train and blusher for extra oomph.
Cathedral: The mother of all veils, the cathedral s also the most formal. Sometimes referred to as the "royal veil," this style falls three-and-a-half yards from the headpiece.
Double Tier: A veil of two layers (either two veils or a veil and a blusher), usually of different lengths.
Elbow: As the name implies, this type of veiling extends 25 inches in length to the bride's elbows. Finger Tip: A very popular length, particularly with ball gowns, this style extends to -- you guessed it -- the fingertips.
Flyaway: A multi-layered veil that just brushes the shoulders. Considered less formal than other styles.
Fountain: This veil is gathered at the crown of the head to create a cascading effect around the face. Usually of shoulder- or elbow-length.
Mantilla: A long, Spanish-style circular piece of lace that frames the face. Made either of lace or lace-edged tulle, the mantilla is usually secured with a comb.
Pouf: A gathered piece of tulle or netting that fastens to a comb or headpiece to create height for the veil. Waltz (also known as Ballet): A veil length that falls somewhere between the knee and the ankle.
and my personal favorite: Cage: Netted face covering (vintage style)

The Table: Reception Ideas
I'm going to show the 3 table shapes for your reception, and when to use which. Your space usually defines what shapes your tables should be. There are options out there!
Banquet: Perfect for a large space with high ceilings and a lot of floor space. Rows of long shaped tables will fill the space.

Round: These tables work with just about any space, are great for conversation, and look great. A great tip is to mix the sizes from 60" to 72" inch round tops.
Square: Works well for undefined spaces and outdoors. They don't need to be lined up, you can set them at different angles.
Banquet: John Michael Cooper; Round: Andres Bibeault: Square: East Hills Photography
